New Bern – Myrtle Gray Hall, 84, died Monday, January 8, 2018 at Pruitt Health Care Neuse facility.
She had attended Tabernacle Baptist Church. Mrs. Hall was the first female real estate broker in New Bern. She was manager of Builders & Frames Trust, owned by G. E. Lee. She retired from Cherry Point as the first housing inspector at Cherry Point. She was owner and began the first alteration service in New Bern, “His & Her’s Alterations” until retirement when she sold her business. Myrtle loved people and reached out to anyone in need that came across her life. She felt this was her greatest accomplishment.
She is survived by a son, William M. Tingle, Jr. of New Bern; a daughter, Dyan Spence (Ralph) of New Bern; two grandsons, John Bradford Spence and Corey Ryan Spence; and two brothers, Lee R. Hall of Tarboro and Stephen C. Hall (Gail) of Kinston. She was preceded in death by her parents G. Jones Hall and Golda Lee Hall and her sister Shirley Faye Hill.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
