NEW BERN, NC: Frances Beal Davis died December 6th at Courtyards at Berne Village. Born March 14, 1932 in Hayesville NC to Ralph and Mary Bonlyn Beal. Youngest of nine children. She was a Methodist minister’s wife and home maker. Educated in the public schools of North Carolina graduating from Hayesville High School and attending Bob Jones University.
Fran was so proud of her large family, many of whom where educators in the local school systems. One of her older brothers, Scott, was her high school principal and signed her diploma. She had fond memories of playing high school basketball. She was a devoted wife to Alonzo “Lonnie” Davis for 64 years. Fran was always a voracious reader. She enjoyed her membership in P.E.O. In 1993 she & Al retired to Ormond Beach Florida and enjoyed many years of travel with friends and family in their RV’s to 49 states including Alaska and Canada. Frances and Al moved to New Bern, NC in 2012.
She was predeceased by her husband Al, parents and five brothers (Frank, Jarrett, Scott, Johnny and Kent) and two sisters (Hettie and Mary Helen). Survived by one brother Kyle, many nieces and nephews, and special niece Donni Drawdy who was more like a sister. Two sons, Richard (Debbie) and Ralein (Patricia) and five grandchildren Josh (Gia), Adam, Molly, Ashley and Kyle.
