New Bern – William (Bill) Harper Stanton, Jr. 64, died Monday, September 19, 2016 at his home.
He was a self employed carpenter, and was a lifetime member of Centenary United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher and participated in missions. Bill was hard working, treated everyone fair and wanted to give back to his family and church.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Matt Smith of CarolinaEast Internal Medicine and Community Home Care & Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) H. Stanton, Sr. and “Grace” Amelia Hay Stanton.
Surviving are his sisters, Diana Stanton and husband, Kerry Seifert, their children, Chris Seifert and Katye S. Kobza; Amy Stanton and her children Mark Brinson, Jason Lassiter and Bethany Sita; Carole Stanton and daughter, Jessica Barnes; Sara Sanders and husband, John Sanders, Sr., their children, John Sanders, Jr. and wife, Ruthie, Matt and Sam Sanders; Nancy Long and husband Virgil, their children Ashley, Alyssa, Alex and Allison Long. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
